Opuntia Titania 60cm XL
Opuntia Titania' in nursery pot : Ø -19cm x h-17cm (Please note that decorative basket is not included)
The Opuntia 'Titania' is a spineless and spreading variety of cacti with light grass-green pads. The pads are narrow and paddle shaped. It is a medium-growth opuntia. Very easy to keep, great for growing in pots, needs minimal maintenance and is hardy down to 10 degrees.
Indoors prickly pears need a brightly lit position, preferably a south-facing or west-facing aspect or grown in a conservatory or heated greenhouse with good, all-round light. They need 4-6 hours of direct sunshine in summer.
They are not cold or frost hardy, but can be moved outside to a warm, sunny patio in summer. Make sure you bring them back indoors before the weather turns cold in early autumn.
They need a minimum spring and summer temperatures of 18°C (65°F), but prefer cooler temperatures in autumn and winter of 7-13°C (45-55°F) while they’re dormant. Keep them away from direct heat and radiators as well as draughts and fans that cause fluctuating temperatures.
Light: Full Sun, the plant does well with 4 to 6 hours of direct sunshine and can be moved outdoors to a sunny, warm patio or deck. Take care to bring them back indoors when the cooler temperatures of the autumn months arrive
Watering: Prickly pear likes dry conditions, and very little watering is required to maintain the plant. This is why the cactus is often used in low-water gardens. Limit your watering to every two to three weeks or when the soil is completely dry. When watering, simply moisten and don't soak the soil.
Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets and children. However, beware of the spines and thorns!
