Nidularium Schultesianum Fireball Varagiated 15 cm
Nidularium schultesianum Fireball is an evergreen perennial cultivar from the Bromeliaceae family.
Produces rosettes of variegated, strap-shaped foliage with toothed edges. The leaves change from green to red-tinged when grown under adequate light. Sometimes commonly known as Nidularium 'Fireball'.
This low maintenance plants can be grown in terrariums or as a houseplant, it is epiphytic, growing well on rocks and trees.
This bromeliad is endemic to Brazil where it can be found growing as an epiphyte and lithophyte. Bromeliads play an important part in rainforest ecology that is replicated in vivariums and provide a place for dart frogs to lay their eggs and raise tadpoles.
Small purple flowers form in the tank after which the plant will produce offsets and develop into a cluster of plants.
Light: Bright, indirect light. More light will cause plant to colour up more.
Watering: Soil does not need to be wet but should not be allowed to dry out.
Humidity: to maintain a high level of humidity in the hot months, it is recommended to fill the tray with wet pebbles (expanded clay) or often spray the plants with water.
Temperature: in winter, the minimum temperature should be 16-18 °C. In summer, there are no temperature-related problems if optimal humidity is provided.
Origin: Native to Brazil
Toxicity: Neoregelias are non-toxic to both cats & dogs.
