This vigorous climber makes an elegant focal point to a bright, warm room. Stephanotis floribunda is grown for its waxy, heavenly scented, tubular white flowers which fill the air with their rich perfume which is reminiscent of Jasmine.

The blooms emerge in summer between May and October, decorating the woody, twining stems. Even when not in flower, the foliage makes a handsome climber, and it will always catch your eye due to the circular display.

The evergreen, dark green, leathery leaves are prominently veined on their undersides which cover the stems all year round. Although not the easiest house plant to grow, Stephanotis will certainly add a touch of glamour and elegance to your home.

Light: Bright light, away from the direct sunlight is essential.

Watering:Water thoroughly whilst the plant is actively growing. A little extra humidity goes a long way for the Madagascar Jasmine, position on a pebble tray or a light misting will really help your plant be its best. In winter, reduce watering to allow the compost to dry out slightly.

Temperature: Place it in a warm room with a temperature above 18C (65F) during spring and summer. Winter temperatures can be lower but should not drop to below 7C (45F).

Toxicity:Stephanotis floribunda has no toxic effects reported.

Origin: native to Madagascar.
